So me and Scaini33 made a last minute decision to go fishin on the Rideau. We Tried the usual spots that are known to produce, and dont even get a nibble, i guess the fish thought it was too hot too. So we tried a small creek up the river that someone told us about, looks pretty good shallow lots of weed beds and lillypads. Get a few strikes on my topwaters but nothings getting the lure. So i switch up the presentation and go for a weedless worm, second cast, get a tug and fish on!

This guy felt like a hundred pounds cuz of all the weeds.
So later on we decided to go and try our luck at some musky, i've never caught one and have only been out once so i wanted to try my new lure, we were casting along a weedline and nothing until i'm bringing in a cast and as i'm done figure eightingand pulling my lure from the water this huge musky snaps at my lure but doesn't get it, he came out of nowhere. Kept casting for him but nothing, now I cant wait to get back on the water!
On our way back we passed by a dead fish

Dead walleye i think. Weighed 8lbs!

All in all a pretty good day on the water.

What a shame. I hate seeing good sized fish go to waste :(
Good report though, thanks.

He sure has a menacing face on him.

Funny, I just noticed the dog taking a quick sniff too.
