Quebec license Difference

Well I have caved and decided to pick up a Quebec Licence . Since we will be towing a boat to the Belle Province is there any Law differences on what we should have on board ?

Water security in a boat is Federal John. So what you need in Ont. is what you need in Quebec.

if ur goin to quebec you should definately have c prince,bass addict,or 24/7 aboard. and if that aint a law it should be!

I too was wondering if there were any differences... Same laws could be applied a little differently by different jurisdictions I would think...

I would think that there may be more laws that would be different with trailer-ing.

I remember there was a law about how far your boat can legally overhang the end of your trailer... Cross your chains in ON a law?

One particular difference that I enjoy is that you are allowed to consume alcohol in your boat, on the QC side. The driver of the boat must not have open liquor while the motor is running, and must never be over the legal limit. Once you're anchored for walleye, it's "pop-a-top"!

are you serious gg? Also I was told when I bought mine that my wife could fish under my license as long as we only keep a one license limit. Not sure if I was told correct or not but cool if you fish with your wife.

I dont think any alcohol should be consumed while driving a gas powered motor vehicle including cars, trucks, boats, tractors etc...

But it doesnt surprise me at all!

Yeppers. Drink beer all you want, just don't go over the limit. If you're the passenger for the day, go ahead ang get stupid-drunk if you want. It's your life, after all...

You're right about the license applying to your wife, and Cprince mentioned your kids, too. That's all A-OK, as long as you only keep ONE limit of fish. You don't even have to have a line in the water,either. Your kids can fish off the dock, with you just standing there, and that's all good.

I have noticed, however, that Quebec CO's are a little more particular about leaving a line unattended. I've had one tell me to stay where I was standing, and actually measured the distance to the dock where my line was (I was watching it from the porch, to get out from the sun, and grab another cold one). I think the allowable distance is 50 feet, maybe 100 feet (I don't remember, but it's in the regs).

Moonshine when do you want to hit the "promised land" ? They say we can drink cheap quebec beer while anchored. Does that Princecraft have enough power to troll while dragging an achor? (the rule says it's ok if you are anchored)

Next they will be making claims of having pretty dancing girls that show their private parts while we eat a free buffet lunch while drinking cheap beer.

Might be time for a couple of hill billies from Eganville make a run for the border........

the CO's are pretty good about the beer on the lakes. i've been stopped with pint in hand. all was good. just don't break the fish and game laws. i hit the promise land once a year for that reason.... i can troll with my anchor out as long as we are in over 100ft of water

I agree totally Spence, I believe he was just joking cause transport Canada website says you can't. But being qc I actually thought it could be true.
