Where is Twooey Lake??

I was planning on investigating a past tip given to me by a Hawk Talker this weekend. Someone told me to go to Twooey Lake and Tween Lake I think, I was thinking of fishing both of them and Black Donald Creek I think where it flows near them. Could anyone tell me how to get there? Or tell me if you can camp out anywhere there? I hiked up Black Donald Creek at another stretch, up near where it spills into a lake before and I encountered a scary looking hunting club with shells and bones along the river bank. Not a place I would like to camp out for the night. Any directions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have a topo map of the shiner, scully and marble lake area, is it the same rough area? Any help would be much appreciated.

Tooey Lk is on hwy 132 out of Renfrew, about 10kms past Dacre. Cant miss it on the right has a large parking area and pick nick area. Twin (lower) is past Tooey by about 5 to 10 kms again on the right hand side, good size place to park.
Tooey gets stocked (brook trout)and fished pretty heavy, Twin has Bows it gets worked over pretty good as well, but they both produce.
Good luck

Twooey and Twin Lakes are off hwy.41 ,the Algonquin route.Take hwy.132 out of Renfrew to #41. The lakes are between Twooey Hills and Kartoum.
Twooey and Upper Twin have speckled trout and the Lower Twin has rainbow trout.
Let me know if you have any luck.

Thanks so much for the speedy replies. That is great. I have heard that they are worked over pretty good but I figure I can give it the old college try regardless. Is there a creek near either lake, I hear that there is one tht runs right between them. I also heard that it wan't really a good producer either but I like creek fishing so I will go wherever I have a shot. Even if it is a loooong one.

There is creek that flows into tooeys. It crosses the road. Years ago i did catch small brookies in it whether just came up from the lake or they are in there all the time I'm not really sure. If you can get out on the lake with a canoe or something you'll increase your chances. I like trolling a Clear lake wobbler w/ a worm about 6 to 8 inches back

Tooey Lake

Haven't been there for over a month but last time there I saw "schools" of what looked like 8-12 inch Rainbows swimming by. Heard rumour of a ministry truck breaking down and dumping it's load... looks like it's true.
And yes, it is normally stocked with Specs only. Twin, the one close to the 132, down the road from Tooey, has bows and the one up the path, further from the highway has specs in it.

I've never had much luck fishing the present water temps for trout this time of year but let me know how it goes... you may be able to hook a few on the fly.

Thanks, Buzzer
