Mississippi lake Smallmouth or Largies

Probly going to enter the tournament there next weekend, and I've never fished it...heard that there is some good largies there, but also heard some good smallies...does anyone know what has won this event in the past? It would be great to know which to target.

I haven't fished a tourny there but I have fished that water many times. I found largies were much easier to find and good sizes. I had great luck using spinnerbaits straight white w/ silver leaf blade or black w/ copper colorado blade.hope that helps.

always seem to get some real nice smallies during ORWL events. usually using slow death near the islands in the main basin. but don't know if they can get you any money.

Most events are won by largies.
Last SEBO event was won by largies in the back bays.
Last BAA event was won by Largies. (Technique unknown)
Your odds are best to try for largies.
If you manage to snag smallies then you'll be ahead of the game!
I have had success fishing the deeper weedlines this summer with jigs and senkos.

Hope the fish you catch at this year`s mississipi tourny are the same size as the one in your avatar!!!
@Jeff: Some of the better teams in renegade seem to be targetting smallies too... Might be something to look at if you`re a smallie fisherman!

Let's hope you don't repeat your last SEBO or Bass'n for Bucks results!
Petawawrace - go for largies.. a safer bet in the long run.
