I'm having hard time to choose survival suit for fall time on the water.
Is this decent choice ?

I went and bought mustang for the wife and myself last year.
As nice as they are they are still very bulky.

2 pieces of advise told to me when I bought mine
a) mustang is bulky
b) the difference between a one piece and a two piece, you will only want a one piece went you fall in the water

What model # do you have ?
They have so many that I'm confused
Apparently the MS2175 is way less bulky then MS2075

I use the Helly Hanson and love it.Ck it out.

Ditto to that!!!....The Helly Hanson is a bit combersome but man do I feel safe and warm in that suit on open water in the fall right through until ice-up!!!!!...it's a one-piece with suspenders and neoprene cuffs on the ankles and wrists...a lot less $$$$ then what you're lookin' at...

I also bought a two piece Arctic Armour suit last winter for ice fishing....it's a LOT lighter but I was actually a bit disappointed in the thermal area...but it's a great suit if you're on the ice and moving around a lot!

I guess it all depends on what you want to use it for

I second that emotion about the HH. Just wish the hood wasn't so weak, if they changed the hood it would be 10/10. It is the more economical choice over Mustang. It is definitely a quality item. I have used mine solidly during the fall and winter fish now for three years and it is barely worn in yet...my only complaint is the zip away hood, wish it was more of a parka style hood.

Mustang make some great survival suits, they have been at it for a long time.

I also thing they are all bulky, I would suggest you try them out first before taking someone else's word on such expense.

As well make sure to get one big enough that you will be able to layer some clothes without getting tight on you. Another thing if you want to use it for heat I highly recomend the one piece, @ 6'3" it keeps my mid section protected from the elements as well I find the heat transfer from the legs to the body is noticeble.

No problem bud .....I have the XL and it's roomy!....I'm 5'11", 215lbs.....I don't use layers of clothes underneath because the HH keeps the body heat in and I find that a pair of track pants and long sleeve t-shirt is all you need or else you'll start sweating like crazy...

The Arctic Armour is a different story....I definately have to wear layers of clothing in order to keep warm!!....

If you get a 1 piece make sure that you get one that has internal suspenders. I have a Nautilus one and I love the suspenders, makes it a lot more comfortable. HH bought out Nautilus so mine is the Alpha model .

I am 6' and bought the XL as at the time i weighed about 240lbs I am now 212 and it is a bit roomy in there.

Good points from Wallyboss, HH has the suspenders, makes a huge difference, and I as well am 5'11' 240 and use XL and it is a perfect fit, lots of room.
