As many of you know last weekend's 30km/h + winds made for less than ideal fishing conditions but we did the best we could with the hand we were given.

Day 1 We got set up and were fishing by 3PM.
It was our best day by far.

Water temp: 67
Water Clarity: 3.5 feet
Lures of choice:
Heddon Spit'n Image
Spro Frog
Berkley Powerbait Jerk Shad
Wacky Rigged Senkos
Texas rigged Creature Bait
Buzzbait

Nailed a 5.2, 5.0, 4.5, 4.4, 3.6 and one or two other low 3 pound fish.
Although we weren't getting the numbers I was used to with two nickles in the boat we went to bed real happy.

Day 2
Weather was cold and windy—water temp dropped 5 degrees overnight.
Water temp: 62
Water Clarity: 8-10 inches

Lures of choice:
Heddon Spit'n Image
Spro Frog
Buckshot Jigging Spoon
Wacky Rigged Senkos
Jig head and various powerbaits

Landed less than 5 bass all day but one was the 5 lbs 8oz pig caught on the spit'n image on a rocky smallie look'n shoreline. and a 4.4 before nightfall.

Day 3
Weather was cold and windy still
Water temp: 61 in spots
Water Clarity: 8-10 inches

Lures of choice:
Heddon Spit'n Image
Spro Frog
Buckshot Jigging Spoon
Wacky Rigged Senkos
Jig head and various powerbaits

Little luck with the smallies on deep humps. Caught 3 bass all day and lost the biggest of the trip (such a cliché) near the end of the evening. a 6 or close to it.

Last weekend was a tough one on the water with the cold front and all the wind we had.

WOW, look at those footballs. Great job with the weigh and release vid as well. I like those.

I may be stubborn sometimes but I swear I have had good luck in cold water and hot bluebird skies on topwaters. Times when they "shouldn't work".

Could I have caught more fish on other presentations? Well my 2 buddies were throwing slower moving baits but 2 of the 3 nickles were caught on topwaters as well as to of the 4lbs+ fish.

Well Torpedo I'd like to say it's all because I'm a better angler this year than I was last but that just isn't the whole truth. Sure I have learned a bit more, tried to figure out more precise "patterns" during any given day and become a bit more versatile but luck is a big factor too.

I have spent more hours out there this year than any other as well and I'm not always fish'n high pressured lakes. As for the 6 pound mark I'd have to say no.

I caught a 5lbs 12 ouncer and my Girlfriend caught a beauty 5 lbs 15.75 oz. Thing is on this trip I weighed 2 fish with my scale and switched to my buddy's scale and both times his scale registered 3-4 ounces higher. That would put my fish at or 1 oz off of 6 and hers to 6lbs 3oz+. Here is a pic of her beast. But hey there are always variables.
