Big Jim sent me a note with an invite to join him in Toronto for "Dave Mercer's Facts of Fishing Kids Fishing Day" at Ontario Place.......I jumped at the opportunity!
500 plus kids and their parents had the opportunity to fish on the day, many of them for their very first time.
I've done an entry on the blog with some great pics....
Awesome RJ ---
How come you didn't post the pic (here) of the 3 of you guys!
That's a GR8 pic!
Cheers
Scott
************************ Scott - A bad day on the water is better than a good day in the office.....
- Every day can be a fishing day, but not every day will be a catching day.......
RJ that looks like it was great fun but I wonder who the kids were because if you did not have the fishing shirts on I would have thought the three of you were the ones having all the fun. I have been out with Big Jim and have met Dave a few times. Along with you the kids could not have had better people helping them out. Keep it up.
That's awesome RJ! Not only did you get to hang with some awesome fishing personalities, but I bet you guys hooked at least a few kids on fishing for life.
Good on ya man! That's really what this sport is about.
The gods do not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent in fishing
I feel overwhelmed with TWO kids and you handled FIVE-HUNDRED?
What a day that must have been, full of fun, fish and smiles. Because of Big Jim, yourself and other generous people, there are probably a bunch of new avid fisherkids ready to take the next step and GO FISHING!!

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
This is a very nice thing to be part of RJ. I wonder how many of these kids got hooked on fishing after that day.
It's a lot of fun to fish with kids and see how excited they get when the fish is on. Although I have my shares of tangles to fix with my 3 boys. The youngest is using an ice fishing rod now (he is only 3), and when he feels a bite he screams and throws the rod to me or to his mom
Thanks for sharing.
