What a Summer It was

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

What a Summer It was

Post by RextypeS »

Hey everyone I decided that since i don't post too much i would contribute with a report on how my 2010 season went.

For my self it was a great year i started the year off by catching something that I always wanted to catch. Now it wasn't as good as a fight as I thought it was going to be in fact I actually thought that I had caught a log at the bottom of the Ottawa river at first. But sure enough I finally got it too the top and there it was my very first Gar pike. What a bute she was.

Now on to my bass season I was very happy right from the start of the season. Muskrat lake 2nd day of bass season I caught this pig 4.53lbs one of the nicest fish I caught all season.

I was also lucky enough to take out my friends daughter and her friend one day. I have to say when you can put people on fish there you can get a satisfied feeling. I really enjoyed watching these girls bring in a head to head 3.5lber's

At the end of August I went up near Gracefeild Quebec for a week vacation and I wasn't disappointed at all. A friend of mine let my use his cottage lots of lakes around but I only fished one and it was smallie ville. I caught so many nice smallies I can't wait to go back next year or maybe even in the winter to do some nice ice fishing :D

Hopefully I will have another report for my fall experience. I will end this report off with one more picture since it wouldn't be the same without a picture of a bird ;)

Nice report and very impressed with the shot of that gar pike. Still have to get me one of those. Maybe next season I will try.
Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.

I also find gar a (bizarre!) fish I'd like to try my hand at one day soon. Congrat's on catching your first!

There are a lot of really big bass in this report -- you should report more often.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

The red ball is an Ardent culling ball. They come in a six pack, all different colours. They allow you to literally dial-in the weight of the fish, making culling extremely quick and easy - no guesswork!

I believe Ed (Paddletales) can get them / stocks them, but here's the BPS link for more info: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/store ... 00_175-3-0

Cheers,

You won't need one Ty, from what I've seen the biggest bass in the boat is usually yours anyways.....
