I'd appreciate obtaining some feedback from anyone with experience using TUF-Line XP. In mid Sep, I took advantage of an opportunity to try muskie fishing for the first time. For casting, my host graciously allowed me to use his Curado 301 spooled with 65 pound TUF-Line XP. I was impressed with the combination. However, I'm primarily a walleye fisherman and was wondering whether I could achieve the same level of satisfaction with the TUF-Line XP on a Curado 200 for casting less weighty stickbaits. Thanks in advance.

Personally, I'm not a fan of it. I find it doesn't cast as well as power pro and tends to dig into itself. That's my experience, but I've only ever used the 30lb tuf-line.

My son spooled up a baitcaster and a spinning reel with it this year. I didn't hear any negative comments from him on our fishing trips.

Castability with 40 or 50 lb should be fine, however, braids tend to float which may negatively impact the action on the stickbait. The stretch found in mono may be desirable as well as the reaction of the no-stretch braid may be too fast for that lure.

I had 50 lb on my bait caster last year. I will give it praise in the strength category, as for casting and that...it gets a definate thumbs down. It floats too much, the thickness compared to power pro. I switched to 20 lb Flouro and found a HUGE improvement on casting...as well as my catches! Especially the Eyes!!
