Hi guys,
I was wondering when everyone here usually puts there rods away for the winter and waits for the ice to freeze! I have had 3 unsuccessful trips this month and I think this weekend will be the last hoorah until the ice comes around... anyone else?

I fish right until ice up, its actually a great time for shore fisherman because you get access to fish that normally stay deep in the summer.

really JZ? I find the opposite when I go fishing this late in the year I barely get a nibble from anything at all.

The last few times I've been shore fishing have yielded nothing from my usual honey holes.

I got out one last time Friday for a few hours and had more bad luck than good

I'm going to hope for one more nice day to get out, but I'm thinking it's just about time to pack up and wait for ice fishing

It looks like this weekend coming up is going to be pretty decent... about 8 degrees with no large gusts or anything. One more shot for me at those pesky rideau shore muskies lol :)

Fellas all I can say is at this time of year look for slow current .... bell sinker, floating jig head and a emerald shinner minnow. It's never let me down fishing with that set up in fall !

Ya, the few spots I frequent have been absolutely dead over the past couple weeks. Might try this afternoon for an hour though.

Lots of walleye/sauger to be had along the Ottawa shoreline this time of year. Ripraps seems to draw them in for some reason.
