Just thought I'd report on my progress over the last two outings.
I was on Moira lake on Friday 12th. Fished about 2-5pm.
Saw 6 Muskie that day. Two in the twenty pound range. Of the six, I caught two in the ten pound range.
One on a Crane 4" and one on a throw-back bait Bucher Fluttertail.
Was out again on Lake Stoco on Saturday 14th and got two more Muskie.
One was a smaller 30" fish and the other was a nice 42" one.
Small one hit a Bucher Slopmaster sunset colour spinnerbait and the 42" hit a Pearson Grinder double willow-leaf spinnerbait.
Both came from classic river mouth spots in about 9ft of water and weed cover on slow retrieves.

Hope to get out again on Tuesday 16th.

marine, do muskies hit fast moving baits like spinners and topwaters all year around?

Typically no, but some will bite in certain situations.
Like the sun-warmed shallows we've had from the great weather lately.
That may have had them more active at this time of year when the are generally slow moving and finicky biting.
I was moving the baits extra slow though.
The Bucher Slopmaster is a great spinner for slow retrieves as it is light with a planing styled head and large Colorado blade that gives it lots of lift. It's also more compact and smaller profile for this time of year.
Try one out and you'll be shocked at the array of fish that will hit this big-fish lure. It's truly a great bait and should be in everyone's boxes.
I think Crappy Tire still has some on their shelves (at least in the Belleville store).
