Hello All,

The 2010 open water season has finally come to end for me. Headed out for the last time this past Tuesday and now the boat is fast asleep until next spring. Was another good year - not so great for "big" fish, but quantity was definitely there...

Here are a few of the more fond memories

Had a blast fishing with friends:

And of course, my Dad:

Had a great time doing a lodge review at Springwood Cottages on Kennebec Lake - look for the article in Ontario Out of Doors magazine this coming summer:

And shared in a great, three-day weekend at Elmhirst's Resort on Rice Lake for an OOD Writer's Retreat. Spent a day in the boat with Stephen Bates - had a blast:

And here is the last fish of 2010 - a nice chunky crappie after last light - what a great way to end the year:

Been a fun one and already looking forward to next year!

Looks like you had a good year man, congrats. I look forward to reading your articles in OOD. I stayed at springwood cottages 2 years ago. Ceaser and his wife are nice people. We caught a million bass out of that lake but only 1 smallie over 3lbs , and it came off the point of that island in your pic. Good luck on the ice

Justin,

I have entirely enjoyed following your 2010 bass season. You have been one of the consistently informative posters on this forum. This is not to say that others are not as informative, but I relate entirely with your style of fishing; Smallish tin boat grounding and pounding the heck out of as many different bodies of water as you can.

Between you and Lonnie, you guys have opened my eyes to Ontario Out Of Doors, and I have found myself on that site nearly as much as this one.

I hope we get to cross paths during the 2011 bass season!

Thanks again for you numerous contributions to this site and my fishing!

Congrats on the great season Justin. I too discovered the Money Minnow this year, great early season bass lure. Here's to even better success next year.

Hey Justin,

I enjoyed your recap and will look forward to your ice reports next. Your photographs are always impressive, let alone the fish.

Where was the pic taken with the 2 Clydesdale horses? Beauty of a shot. There's something about a draft horse that makes for a great picture subject and the leaves and lake are gorgeous.

We'll have to plunk some bass together sometime. Head up into the Land O' Lakes for a day.

Solid season as always. :D

Thanks for the kind words, folks.. :D

CPrince - we'll get out next season for sure - no worries.

Wolfe - the horses were at Elmhirst's Resort on Rice Lake - beautiful property. I took a walk up to the stables each day to see them...

Until the next report,

Good Fishing.
