Things were good for a bit... now everyone's getting cranky again.
Heck even a skunk report would be sweet.

I went out last weekend looking for Walter, jigged high, jigged low... nada. Current did me in but I've regrouped and gotten heavier jigs and bouncers. And the other 2 dozen boats around me caught jack as well. Didn't see anything from the Muskie guys trolling back and forth all day between us. Massive lake, everyone all in one spot. Fun stuff.

I did manage to spot about a half dozen MONSTER sturgeon while carefully going though some 3 - 4 foot shallows to get to a spot. That was very cool. Highlight of the day,

Going out again on Monday and maybe Tuesday as I'll be a bachelor for a few days for the first time in years... looks like I'll be having barley sandwiches for dinner next week!

That must be a sight eh? Seeing some monster sturgeon below you, and in shallow water...

I'm thinking about going tomorrow.... though I'm not sure if I'm starting to push it... light rain... high of 3 in the afternoon.

If I had known you would be interested in skunk'd reports I could have posted a few in the last couple weeks! It has been slow on this end for me. Just having trouble locating anything at all. Maybe trying a touch to hard to get the elusive trophy.

I spent the week in Corwall at the Nav Canada facility and the strangest thing I saw yesterday morning!!! I brought my luggage to my car a 07:00 in anticipation of a quick getaway after the conference was over.

While walking back to the facility this HUGE Coyote jumped out of some bushes near me (about 5 feet) ran right past my legs toward the building and SLAMED itself against the glass wall AND it kept lunging itself against the glass OVER AND OVER again and again. I presume that it had seen its reflection in the glass and was going NUTS trying to fight itself? The coyote was the size of a sheperd and looked very healthy otherwise. The Coyote persisted for about 3 or 4 minutes then ran off into the feild.... strangest thing but seeing this happen right in front of me sure got my heart pumping ... no need for a coffee fix that day!

Ya, I've had a skunked report too.
Was out trolling and casting to fav spots but no muskie to be seen. Mind you I was only out two hours.
I did however see one right on bottom on my Hummingbird. Weird to see it on the electronics. Only ever happened once like that. It looked neat. Like a log or tree on the bottom. I had to look twice at it.
It's been really windy and cold here too. Not sure if it's typical across Ontario with this low pressure cell, but DAMN, you can feel it coming.

VERY strange to see a coyote do that I bet.
I had a fox come right up to the Jeep one day as we sat on the side of an Algonquin road way back in the bush. Kinda scared me seeing that this was not normal behaviour from it. My buddy was egging me on to "go pet it"....lol.
I though maybe it had rabies or something.
Then it pick up a dead crow that looked flattened by a car and ran around the Jeep a few times and then ran into a field and sat there looking at us.

Hahaha!!! I work for NAV here in Ottawa. I know how he felt. I find myself doing the same thing sometimes here at work. LOL

I kinda felt sorry for the thing... either it was seeing a reflection of itself in the glass and wanted to fight it thinking it was another coyote in its property... or it saw the open field reflected through the glass and wanted to flee.... either way I know what you mean... if you are ATC, you likely spent 9 months there continuous right? ... back inthe 80's I spent a total of about 18 months there with the longest stint being 7.5 months... and yes.. after 7.5 months I could have easily done the same as this coyote
