Well the lake was not frozen,  we were pretty much after a long day in search of rainbows.

Image
Not the greatest pic but we are getting ready for the launch of the "ss iceberg"

Bulky is right...no way we were going to go without Lifejackets on with the water temps a hair above freezing

Image

Warm up breaks were needed but all in all it was not too bad. Paddeling was quiet and relaxing. Much needed stress break all around.

No better way to spen a Dec day in trout country

Image

Back on shore as it was starting to get a bit colder....no bites from the canoe but we had some luck from shore and 1 fish ended up going home for a meal.

Arrived in the dark and left at dark...great day guys, now to put away the softwater rods and prepare for the ice which is only a couple weeks away at this rate.

C'mon ice.

Awesome !
I am glad to see that lots of people still fish soft water!

It is a bit crazy, but that is why we love it :D

Way to go guys. Here is an example of a couple die hard fishermen.
I'm glad you go a reward for your cold adventure.
I couldn't tell from the picture but what was colder the front or back of the canoe, lol.

Hey Matt

I thought I was nuts fishing for trout at the end of November but you guys got me beat (just kidding). Anytime you get out is great so
long as you're prepared for it. Looks like you had a great time. You basically have the whole place to yourself. Enjoyed the October
and November back lake trout fishing so much that I decided to get a cheap canoe or small jon boat for next year.

Hey Matt;
Good to see, you got right into the fly fishing right after your new purchase.

Great idea with building a fire!

Glad you didn't go home empty handed.
