Hit the Ottawa yesterday afternoon, basically just to test my new toys.Only 3 inch of ice at the launch ,but knew it would get better once I was out of the current.15 minute walk..27 feet of water..7 inch ice.Was happy with everything...except for the pathetic minnows I picked up at town X.Minnows here have been an ongoing problem and this year will be the worst. Will make the hour and a half round trip next time for some real bait. That being said, had a few good hits and iced 1 eye..not picture worthy nor are the minnows! All strikes came on the Buck-shot.Image

We have over 7 inches of ice downriver out this way. many huts are out in the bay already.

I was working on the kids skating rinks yesterday as my son was dipping a line near by and only got one bite for his efforts.
