We are planning a trip up past Deep River and north of Rapids-des-Joachims on the Ottawa with a group of friends to fish for a week next summer. One person only wants to (HAS TO) go after Muskie. Do any of you know if the Muskie fishing is decent up there or not.
Thanks
Bill

Your best bet for Ottawa River Musky is going to be the Westmeath or Arnprior area. If you're dead set on heading above the swisha dam that musky hunting buddy of yours might have to switch his sights to pike.

Your bud is gonna be hard pressed to find any muskies up that way. As far as I know.....they only exist from the Chenaux dam on down.

Moose hunted there a few years back.
Great walleye and trout area.

you can do very well for musky past the swisha and up around the deux rivieres area that is big fish territory.......try around sunken points and the mouth of weedy bays you might be suprised how good the musky fishing actually is.

rapides des joachim
Say "des joachim" in a valley accent really fast and half mutter it.
When I was a kid I remember asking my dad where in the heck "Diswisha" was on the map...
