Crappie Fishing with the Prince

So CPrince took me up on my offer, to 'show him the ropes' of ice fishing crappies.

I set him up with a vexilar and brought out the two-man Frabill.

When we showed up on the spot, there was another couple guys set up exactly where we wanted to fish... oh well, always need to be prepared with a plan B.

It took us a good hour or more to find some other fish, but eventually started picking away at them. Fishing was a lot slower than is has been, but we got about 20 nice crappies between the two of us, and we lost count of the perch.

All in all a great day, and as you can bet, when CPrince is involved... it's always assured to be a lot fun!!

Cheers,
LK

Thanks for having me out with you Lonnie! I had a blast... watching those red/orange/green bars try to hump my red/orange/green bar...

Seriously... a lot of fun!!! Those Vexilars are quite something once you figure out that the light show is NOT an acid flash back from the Montreal Planetarium presentation of Pink Floyd Ummagumma
...!!!

Next time... we have to beat that little red car to the happy hunting grounds!

For anyone else *thinking* about crappie fishing... go with someone who knows what the heck they are doing. It makes it much more fun and a serious education. Watching Lonnie slay the slabs was like watching a carpenter at work.

Thanks again Lonnie!!

Those Vex's are mesmerizing, aren't they!?

Glad you got into some, despite having to set up in an alternative spot.

You might want to try one of these cheap flashers, not sure how long they will last on the ice though.

Looks like an awesome day out...Crappie are a blast!

I'm curious if the slabs will come out of the hole pre-cooked with the micro-flasher?!

Prince - they are just butt effective on the boat as well when back-trolling, jigging, slip floating, and drop-shotting.

definite game changers.
