After Memorial Day weekend I'm heading to Big Gull Lake for the first time. My target is large pike or a Muskie. Any advice anyone can give regarding good spots, bait, ect. ect. Regarding Big Gull Lake I would appreciate.

I've been traveling to Canada for about ten years now fishing for both species. Big Gull Lake is new water for me so any advice you can provide would really be appreciated.

Thank you

Lenny

Muskies are NOT numerous on Big Gull if they even still exist. 25 years ago some were caught mostly in the east end. If they are being caught now the anglers are keeping quiet.

Don't waste your time w/Gull!

You have a better chance in the Madawaska, Rideau or Ottawa Rivers.

Sorry to give you depressing news.

Both marinas at the eastern end of the lake have closed and they used to be the best location to find out about the state of the fishery on that end of the lake. If you are staying somewhere on the western half of the lake then you could stop in at Camp's Bay or Kirk Cove marinas to find out how other fisherman are doing.

I've been fishing the lake for 7 years and I couldn't guide you to a large pike or musky spot if my life depended on it... It is a very nice lake with below average fishing potential.

I don't know about MOST people, but the ONLY thing
on MY mind IS Soft Water Season!!!!!!!  :D :D

I absolutely DESPISE ice-fishing, so bring on ALL the talk about Big Gull
and any other summer destination, if I want frozen fish I'll go to the
RCSS and pick up some Cap'n Highliner, or better yet, some fresh Tilapia!! :P :P

Very Good For You!!!!!!!

I agree 100%

The reason for Fishing through the Ice, is really a pass time/over from traditional fishing. I will add that Aboriginals might disagree? However they should and have a right to capture their food. Oh, did I mean to open>>>>

I would rather pay the price on sale (and I look for it) for Salmon, HighLiner.

Hope this helps,
Daner
