Here goes:

I have today and wednesday off. Wife has car. I have not fished hard water yet this year. I will look silly, but am totally willing to ride the bus, with my auger to Andrew Hayden Park (it would be like a 5min ride). It's just everytime we drive by there is nobody on the ice, atleast not in veiw. Anybody know if the ice fishing is any good there ? There must be drop offs, or somthing fish would relate to ? Any advice/help would be appreciated.

P.S. I am a novice with no electronics. Just an auger, warm clothes and an urge....

Can't give you any info. on the ice conditions... but DO IT.

Do anything you can to get out there, that's why we have busses. I'm sure a group of 16 year olds will get on with their snowboards, so no difference there.

Ya I am sure you are right about the kids. I am more curious as to how far I might have to walk. I will be going out alone. If I have to walk to the other side of the river, I may try somewhere else. Rest assured, if I dont make it out today, I am off @2pm tomorrow and all day Wednesday, and I WILL make it out.

Why not drive your wife to work so you got the car go fish pick her up and then you look like the best guy in the world for dropping her off and picking her up

I used to see some guys setup right at the base of the lighthouse in the marina area. There is a decent channel there so there must be some pike around....

Thats what I thought. I may go try the evening bit there. Otherwise, I have enlisted a partner in crime for Wed. afternoon, supposed to be REAL nice. Atleast we will be mobile and I will have someone to blame should I get skunked.... :P
