A report...at last

Time has become something of a precious resource, and this whole work thing is really starting to interfere with my fishing career, so I haven't been out all that much.
I started the season exploring some new water with mixed results and breaking in my new wing man, or wing girl to be more precise, Ladybird. She's not nearly as keen on the whole idea as my last net man:
Lots of water eliminated with mediocre results:
(I think its a sauger - it was too small to say for sure
)
One spot has potential but generally it was "quality time" with Ladybird. The past couple nights I went back to more familiar territory and finally connected:

Wow, must have been a good spawning year because we're getting a bunch of 3-5" walleye at our end of the river too. Good times ahead in 2014.

Had let him go 1 Jun. Once we found out it was in his blood, not his bone the result was a forgone conclusion. Had we known what we were dealing with we might have made a different decision. But the surgery bought us some quality time (about 3 months more than the mean survival for hemangiocarcoma) and God allowed us to make the most of it.

Saskie,
Very, very sorry to hear Chester is gone...it is strange, because I was thinking about him just the other day, remembering Shane throwing that toy for him, and how well he was getting around on 3 legs. He was an exceptionally cool dog.
Enjoy your new addition to the family. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with her.
Say HI to Saskette, and I hope we see you guys over the winter.
