Yeah, I'm way too sick to hit the Rideau so the crappies are safe for the time being.

I dug out some old fishing pics and scanned them and they gave me good laugh.

My best crappie to date: Winter 1994. 15" slab.

My wife Liz with a dandy pike from the Rideau.

Dalhousie Lake Largemouths caught during B.A.S.S. Ottawa chapter tournament. We finished 5th.

My brother with a beauty Largemouth from the family cottage on Dalhousie Lake:

My uncle John with an absolutely dynamite Lake Trout from Redhorse Lake. I video taped this one being caught for him. We caught a pile of Lakers that day.

The old faithful ice shack on Lower Rideau Lake.
1995. There was maybe 20 of us that had shacks out then and took the time to catch crappies through the ice. It is like a small village out there now. Last count was well over 75 shacks and trailers out there.

The fish were sublime... but I have to admit... me and my weird brain... what caught my eye was a headline on that newspaper;
