I need a recommendation for a speed sensor.(surface). I want to do more downrigging with my 15ft tiller and need some help keeping me at the1.5-2 mph mark. Realize surface speed does not always reflect ball speed but ball speed gets expensive.
Also any one have a suggestion for a simple hand held inexpensive GPS. I got turned around on the Baskatong last year on a cloudy day.
Thanks Bucko

I have a garmin rino radio, gps I use for fishing and hunting. Does not take the water maps though but works great as an all in one unit. Recently bought a hummingbird combo GPS/Sonar at lebaron but have not got it on the boat yet.I believe that garmin and Lowrance both have hand held gps units that will do both the TOPO and Water maps. Don't know the model offhand but the info will be on their websites.. It all depends on what you are willing to pay and what you may want to use it for.
cheers
