Boat Stolen

Posting for a friend

Hi everyone,

Our boat was stolen yesterday (Sunday) around noon off Mississippi lake near Carleton Place. It was towed right out of our slip while we were away from the cottage for a few minutes. The neighbours saw three men (possibly two teenagers and their father) tow the boat away behind a white boat. They did it in such a way that the neighbours felt they did not look out of place. They were not sneaking around- they just came and took it like it was their own.

Please have a look at the picture I posted in this week's album. It is a 2005 Prince Craft 14 foot aluminum fishing boat with a side console. It has a 25 hp mercury 2 stroke on the back. On the side, it says Pro Series 14.2'

If you see this boat on your lake, on your street, or being towed somewhere, please contact the OPP and give them the information (you can remain anonymous), or send me a PM.

This boat means a lot to my husband and 6-year-old son, who love to go fishing together. In fact, all their tackle and rods were stolen with the boat. If you have any information about the whereabouts of this boat, or you think you saw something that might help us find it, please contact the authorities. Also, please share this post, as we think the boat will be brought to a different lake, so someone, somewhere might see it. Thanks!

Sorry to hear that, some real low life's out there. I'll keep my eyes open I live around the area, I will also watch out for it on the water. Hope they find it and catch the guys who took it, pretty sad day when you can't even leave your boat at the cottage.

That sucks,

Is there anything that can identify this boat as theirs? That model is pretty common and we don't know where to find the picture.

The license number might help, but that would probably be the first thing taken off. The year might help as well.

Our sympathies for your loss. That so infuriating that people can't keep their hands to themselves. I've been looking to buy a boat so I will let you know if I come across anything suspicious.
Karma will get them.

Hopefully some tackle and rod donations can come your way for your son and hubby.

wow that takes balls.

I was in that area of the Miss on Sunday, back at the launch at 12:30 and I didn't see anyone towing a boat. That would have caught my eye.

Myself I can't even think of how someone can just pull up to a dock, untie a boat and tow it away. I guess to some its just another day in the big city...

This is horrible. I actually have been trying to find a way to secure my boat while it's on the trailer, never thought someone would steal it while it's in the water!
