Hit my spot on the Rideau today.
Slow am. For sure.
Then it all changed. Tossed out, laid the rod down and BOOM!
Rod near went right into the drink!!
FISH-ON!!!
8 minute battle with plenty of runs and it was unhooked, pics and grins and back into the drink.
5 minutes later its my buddy's turn. BOOM!!
Another quality carp on with some acrobatics.
Netted, unhooked, couple pics and back in.
2 carp in less than 10 mins!!
The corn and "special" boilies had caused a feeding frenzy!!
However that was to be the only fish to come airside today.
I tried to upload pics using my phone but I can't. Try to get em up later.

I can't with my phone and my gf can't on the iPad.
Have to wait till tomorrow or Monday before I can get to a computer.
Nowhere as big as the one you got. The were around 10-15lb (no scale)
You won't believe it but hair rigs were not working!?!
We had to use another method and it worked out great.

A friend of mine was out on the Rideau last week and said that they hooked into a fish that was silver in color and kinda "danced on it's tail" on the top of the water before breaking off. I recently read that the invasive Asian carp will do this.
I am no carp expert, do the regular "native" carp also launch into acrobatics like that and would they look silver? Just wondering if that is what he hooked onto?

No pics no fish
I have a photobucket app on my smartphone, its easy to upload pics to it.
Also you need to either get a bait runner or loosen up your drag completely. Its just a matter of time before you lose your rod, speaking from experience here lol.
2-2 is a nice day, beats sitting at home

Hey,
Regular carp are golden yellow . When you hook into one, it just goes for a mad dash, they dont jump or do crazy stuff bass and rainbows do. They just pull.
I doubt it was a silver carp as well. If i am not mistaken they are plankton eaters (they eat micro organisms living in rivers not sure which ones) and probably wont catch it on any sort of lure.
