Bass Opener

The beginning of my first full year of fishing since I was a kid, I decided I'd get up early and head out for the opening of Bass season. Hit the launch at about 6:30am, which is way too early for me, but I was determined. The launch / parking was packed. Apparently 6:30am is late by a lot of peoples standards. I started wondering how early those poeple must have risen in order to be out on the water already. Crazy!
Had a buddy with me, and it wasn't long before we started to hook into some decent fish. The bite was strong in all the places we tried until about 2pm, where it took a significant dip in action until about 5pm. We were getting a lot of everything... small mouth, large mouth, rock bass, and even a couple of pike. Using everything from cranks, to texas rigged worms and lizards.
I got this particular large mouth on a lizard:

Weight was 4lb 14oz.
All in all it was a good, successful opening day. Hope the rest of you that got out did just as well.
