A little Lake O action.

A couple friends and I decided to take in a weekend of salmon fishing. Turned out that the action was really slow. Extremely calm water may have played a big part in that. Reports of salmon being caught were few and far between. We tried different depths and different flasher/spoon combos. No salmon but we did mange to pull in a couple of Rainbow to satisfy our bellies.
Sunday, however was a different story. We knew right away things would be different. Wind was up and the waves were staring to roll. The night before, we heard how most of the salmon caught were down nearing 100ft. So we set our riggers at 95 and 90 feet. At 95ft we used a spin doctor and fly and at 90 we used an e-chip flasher and spoon. While setting up the leadcore down the pipe, the rigger at 95ft fired. It was my friend Mike's turn on the rod. There was over 600 ft of line on the reel and he was almost spooled. but after a good fight, Mike won and we has a beauty in the net. A nice King at 25.7 lbs.
