I will never doubt the spinnerbait again

So a few weeks ago my dad and I decided to go fish the Rideau River for the first time in 2-3 years (we hate the amount of boat traffic during the summer so we avoid it.) Wind was blowing like crazy so we found a calm shoreline and decided we were going to throw some half ounce strike king spinnerbaits along the shore. We weren't having much luck only landing 2 or 3 bass and a couple pike. My dad than hooked onto what we thought was a massive pike but to our amazement we had a what turned out to be a 51 inch 31 pound muskie. I myself have never seen a muskie over 6 pounds so you can imagine my state of complete shock seeing one of these monsters. We still aren't sure how he didn't come off we must have lucked in because he was hooked in the side of the mouth and we only had 17 LB mono on.
