I am not going to get any fishing in in the next couple weeks (maybe some on Friday) as I have to head out of town for work.

On the bright side there is a Bass Pro Shops about ten miles from where I will be working in Baltimore (the heroin capital of the US).

Any suggestions on must have items for those that have been.

A good pair of walking shoes from what i've heard... you'll need them to go around the store... Just remember that there'll probably be a rack of lures that are all the same... big store more items not always more choice.

Oh admire the boats and the fish in the tanks if they have them

Rex,

A new BPS just opened about a 1/2 hr from my home here in Central NY. I've been there a couple of times and it truly is an experience. Not only for the "kid in a candy store" feeling of having all this fishing gear available at your fingertips, but also for the outdoor-theme aesthetics of the store. Lots of mounts, fish aquariums and related eye candy. It's fun. Enjoy yourself! I didn't actually spend all that much (yet), but you will be tempted, for sure. (And have a safe trip.)

Rex, I spent the better part of 40 minutes buying Senko type baits at my BPS visit. They were spread across 3 aisles. I had to look at one pack, then compare price, then compare color, then compare how many, then compare with salt ... and of course I had to do this with every brand. I was rushed out the door by my co-workers and only managed to pick out 3 packs.

Be prepared to be overwhelmed.

Oh, oh, oh, I'm gonna be sick to my pants!

I live about 10 miles from the BPS in Baltimore. I will glady take you out on my boat if you are in the area for the weekend. There are several reservoirs in the area as well as the potomac river. The bite has been a little slow this year, but I still like to get out whenever the chance presents itself. If you are interested, send me a reply or PM.
