First time bay of Quintie

Well I don’t post lots on here but this year I will try and change that. On Saturday A small group of us awoke around 3am and headed down to the bay of Quinte for a Walleye day trip. We were out on the water and set up around 7:30 or so. After Jigging for 20 minutes or so I started to mark a few fish. I noticed a big mark on the sonar and saw it started to lift. With a few twitches of the rod… Whammm, bent rod and tight line. Never felt anything like this before. After 5-6 cranks and just as quick it was off. Dammm, time to bring up the line to check the minnow. Just as I was about to drop back down, I see my dad move the rod, and wouldn’t you know it.. whammm tight line. All with in 30 seconds or less.
Was an amazing trip and learned a few things about Quintie while we were there. From everyone that was fishing around us, it sounded like a slow day with only one other fish being caught around us. Had a few lookers and a few lost minnows the rest of the day but this was the only fish we iced. She was just shy of 6 pounds. Can’t wait to get back there…
:D :D :D :D

We are headed down in a couple weeks. Numbers are all over the place on the Qunite site and no one location is banging em.
What part of BOQ were you lads in?

yep..that would have been us. We called it a day after 4:30. Just for info how deep was the water where you guys were? I have a hell of a time to find any sort of structure where we were. We were in 20-22 fow and i found on spot out towards the middle that went to 17 feet. on the way in i stopped and talked to 2 guys that were in closer to shore with the black one man shelters and they said it was 18 feet there. Needles to say i'm going to be buying the navionics app for my phone before i go. I had a buddy catch a 14 pound hog on friday
I'm planing to get back there again...

Well done Steve. Quinte can be a fickle fishery, somedays ya wail em somedays ya don't. Nowhere else can even come close to a sniff of the quality of Walleye that come from there though, that's what keeps ya goin back!
