I have a good time watching my finder when i'm ice fishing. Is a 136$ fish TV with a 5 inch black and white screen worth the purchase? I mainly fish the Ottawa river and the water isnt exactly crystal clear. I'm also not the most patient person...not sure watching a 30 inch walleye avoid my bait without bitting would agree with me...Any advice or experiences?

The Bad:
If you buy one make sure to get a decent rechargable battary for it you will eat through regular ones in no time
It's useless during walleye prime time it's too dark to see anything I wont even drop it down unless its between the hours of about 10am-4pm
If the water is dirty the camera needs to be a lot closer to your bait
Fishing deep with it is also a waste of time too dark once your over about 20 ft to tell whats going on easily
its hard to point the camera at your bait and once it does it likely wont stay in that direction and will slowly turn away

The good:
Finds structure and will help you make sure you are not in a bad spot "in thick dead weeds, etc" easily
Good in shallow water (15 ft or less and especially clear water)
Good for iding the species showing up on your flasher (if you can get it pointed towards your bait)
Pike and Panfish will be where it will give you the most benifit
Seeing a fishes reaction on camera to your action is better then what you see on a flasher
If I had to do it again:
I would upgrade to a color screen (I think it would be better in low light)
I would have the electric camera rotator (easier to find your bait)

I do 90% of my ice fishing in 15 feet of less. I target walleye quite but I did catch my biggest one this year at 3 pm!
