For Fun: Things to always have on a boat.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

For Fun: Things to always have on a boat.

Post by ShawnD »

Hey guys, got the idea from "the Green Apple Two-Step" to make this topic.

I feel like this one could contain some valuable information, what are things you ALWAYS have in your boat?

Toilet Paper
Small set of tools to make any quick repairs to the motor or boat on the go.

Prop wrench of some sort. I prefer a rachet with the proper size socket as I find those plastic prop wrenches useless.
Like Rick stated, misc tools for quick repairs.
I don't typically keep TP on the boat but I guess I should. It has never been needed yet, but some people are amazed I just don't keep any on board.

Spare fuses are something I also carry.

I always have a rain suit. If the fish are biting, why would I want to head in at the mercy of a little rain?!

Good point. That is always in my boat as well. I seem to forgot about half of the stuff I carry.

Spare prop is always on board as well.

Binoculars!

That way you can check the shore line for dandelions before fishing for channel cats!

Seriously though:

Tools
First aid
TP
Bucket (ladies will not likely pee off the stern)
cell or two-way radio
map of lake (if unfamiliar)
small non-perishable ration
rain jacket

An extra life jacket that can be used as a pillow ... for nap time.

Whenever you are going out, make sure you tell someone where you are going and what time you are expected back.

The net, a camera and a scale.

The net to make sure I land the fish and the camera and scale to prove what I caught!

Your significant other.

If the fishing sucks it can make pulling into a creek or other secluded area for a bit more fun.
