OCT 4TH BOARD ONLY VIRTUAL TOURNEY FISH & MEET
So Oct 4th the Board Only virtual tourney will get together for a 4 hour fish at a pre determined location. I am running this poll to see where the most interest will be. I have generalized the Ottawa river so help me out with a location that is good for all. The other location is Mississippi lake. I was thinking of this. Everyone fishes until 4pm and then we will meet at a local near by restaurant for food and drinks and to hand out the prizes to the winners.
To make the day interesting we could do a biggest fish for that day with a $5 entry and of course bass only. All money will go to the biggest bass of the day. Just an added bonus for those who show up.
So let me know in the poll what works best. Remember that they are both great bass fisheries so either way it will be a great day!
Cheers

Quigley hill, gets my vote. Not a whole lot of parking, maybe room for 6-8 boats/trucks MAX.. Then again, how many boats could we get?

It needs to be safe (stay away from cutthroat's territory) with a good ramp and lots of parking.
A good eatery close by would be an asset.
That is why I voted for the Mississippi.

And we will need a tow truck as well.... that boat launch is rough, many trucks get stuck there!ShawnD wrote:Quigley hill, gets my vote. Not a whole lot of parking, maybe room for 6-8 boats/trucks MAX.. Then again, how many boats could we get?

My wife and I would love to tag along in someone's boat.

Re: OCT 4TH BOARD ONLY VIRTUAL TOURNEY FISH & MEET
ok how about we make this even right off the get go....
I suggest that we launch out of the Marina just west of Andrew Hayden park on Carling. Fish new water to everyone and eat at the Marina on our return. Launch is the same as Mississippi lake and no one has an advantage of any real good spots. I have fished this area quite a few times and I will say that it will be good fishing but you might have to work to find the fish. They are there but very mobile... and very rarely stay in too many of the same haunts. This should create an even ground for everyone.... and there are plenty of mystery fish there too... surprise musky... monster eyes... just my input.

So far it is Miss lake for the get together. If this holds up to be the location we will need a gathering place. I am going to suggest two locations for this.
1) Tap house ( formerly Broadways in the home depot/Rona mall area) - lots of parking
2) Thirsty Moose ( near the main town launch ) - parking very limited with boats and trailers
If it is the Ottawa I will reuqire someone to suggest two locations for that.
Cheers

Just bumping this up and also letting everyone know that Ed from Paddletales has been nice enough to donate this as a prize for the tourney.

Keep in mind the only prize here is a virtual picture of Ed with virtual rods!! lol. Sorry Ed and I had to do this as it was just to good of a joke not to do. Ed was still very generous with some donations for the prize table though and if you really want a copy of a picture with Ed holding some nice gear then I can make that work. It would be creepy wanting a picture of Ed but hey who are we to judge!!
