Headed out to the Ottawa River around Campbell's Bay today but found it pretty tough fishing. Only got one decent fish and a bunch of dinks. Anyone else find the bite tough today? Oh well still fun. My buddy and I had some good laughs and that's what its all about. :D :D Jon

Yea, nice fish there Jon. I much prefer that perspective rather than those close ups that make a 2 pounder look huge.

Cheers

I'm stil waiting on parts for my engine to be repaired, so I rented a boat yesterday. With so few weekends left, we figured what the hell, so me, my wife and son headed out. I was going jigging for lake trout but not overly hopeful since the boat, a bow rider, had no electronics or trolling motor. I never even thought to bring a drift sock which would have helped immensely.

By the time we got to where we would be fishing and I set everyone up with the appropriate baits on their jigs it was 11:30 when the first jig dropped into the water at the earliest. By 1:00 we had 4 in the boat and lost a few and released 3. Oh yeah, caught about half a few 3'ish lb small mouth as well which kinda made me laugh since we were in at least 100' feet of water.

Pretty awesome day on the water for me.

Nice!! If your getting decent smallies you should sign up for the BOVT. I'm gonna head back out this afternoon for a second crack at them. Jon
