Lac Heney

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fished there a few times...some good largemouth. Baei de la Mine is very good. In summer I catch them on weed edges. If you follow the bay along the eat side starting north to south you will find a definitive line to follow. Eventually you will come around heading out to the main lake and there is a large underwater point where the weeds are just under the surface. Fish the outside edge especially inside turns.

Baie Gauthier in the south end should be good this time of year as well as the drop just before it.

Some nice chunks in there...good luck!

I have fished there several times and the large mouth fishing has always been great...senkos worked well for me.

I won't be able to make it, but good luck to everyone! Since I won't be there in person, I'd like to send out a big thank you to almontefisher for all the work in putting this together. Truly a testament to the community here on Fish-Hawk. Also, a big thanks for taking me out the Mississippi, it was one of the fishing highlights of my summer.

Was a struggle with the wind / cold front, I didn't catch anything worth taking a pic :(

We had access to a private launch as we had rented a cottage.

From what I saw the lake looks to be in great shape, never seen water that clear before!

Definitely going to try my luck again next spring..

Thanks for the report.
Was wondering how the lake was doing after that fiasco in 2007.
