Re: Getting Slushy
Was on a few back lakes in the Ompah area all weekend and we could have used a canoe at one point. I measured over 8" of slushy top water on the ice. Was not fun to fish in but at least I had my rubber boats on so it could have been worse!
Don't stop to far from shore guys or it will be a long walk back home!

Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.

Re: Getting Slushy
I found out how much slush is too much for an ATV with tracks the hard way on Sunday. Good thing it wasn't too far from shore and had enough ropes and winch cable on board to pull myself back in to better conditions.
Re: Getting Slushy
Slush here (Kingston area) on some of the lakes, but not apparently on others according to guys with whom I have spoken in the last couple days. It is surprising to me that any lake still has no slush, given our snow loads lately...........but real life experience trumps Internet wondering!

Re: Getting Slushy
Was in ompah yesterday and today fishing some back lakes and no real slush to be seen where we were, had my sled and a buddy on atv. Was fine for the sled, he had a tougher time on his atv with all the snow, most of the lakes we fished had no tracks so he had to bulldoze a path for himself, 2+ft of snow on some of the lakes made it a slow go for the atv but he didn't get stuck anywhere.almontefisher wrote:Was on a few back lakes in the Ompah area all weekend and we could have used a canoe at one point.
