Shore Fishing Spots

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Shore Fishing Spots

Post by kanabetrumpet »

Hi Everyone,

I think I'm done with ice fishing this season so I thought I'd pick your brains on some decent places to fish from the shore in the spring time. If there is any spot where I can get some walleye that would be great but I'm open to all suggestions as long as there's fish. I don't really have a car or boat since I'm a student so spots I can bus to would be best.

Thanks!
Cheers,

KT (I don't care what kind of fish it is, I'm just glad to catch it)

Download google earth and take a look around and do some exploring! We have shore spots on the ottawa river, rideau river and the rideau canal, most hold fish at one time or another. You can also pick a bus route that has a bike rack and follow the many paths along the rivers that way.

My favorite spot to fish from shore has always been Morris Island on the Ottawa River

Tons of islands and path ways all along the shore with great Pike, Walleye and Bass.
