Been a few years since the last report but I've been busy so I haven't had much time to fish let alone write up a report.
Saturday I finally got the chance to hit one of my go-to fishing lakes over here on the QC side. I've been fishing this lake since I was 5 years old and it's just great to be able to still fish it from time to time.
Anyways, my buddy Chris and I made it to the lake and trekked through 18 of hard-crusted snow for 20 minutes to get to our spor and we got to work. Eight 8" holes were drilled in 3 fow to 20 fow. All setups were flags equiped with our homemade quickstrike rigs. Bait of choice was 6 inch headless hearring bought from my local IGA for 1.84$ for about 20 of them. BARGAIN!
After drilling our holes, we set up about 70 yrds away for some smallies. First hole, we were on them.

My turn...

An hour goes by and we are still slaying em! RELEASE THE BEAST!!!

We take a break and do some scouting but no luck... So we keep venturing further when suddenly there's a FLAG ON THE PLAY!!!
We run, from a long ways out (you'll hear me huffing and puffing in the video), and I just hope that when I get there I'm not spooled out. We get to the hole to see the tip-up spinning like crazy so I set it aside and set the hook. I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

My smile said it all. My new PB Northern Pike measuring 40.5" so roughly weighing 17-18 pounds. She was safely released after we took the pics.
What an awesome day. I'll leave you with the short video. Enjoy!!!
