Unmarked shoal

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Unmarked shoal

Post by FishingFreak13 »

So I was out fishing today on the Mississippi since it is opening weekend for pike. The day was going great until I hit a shoal 200 yards out from shore. Now i have fished the miss for a long time and am aware it is a fairly shallow lake but the fact that A shoal that far out isn't marked isn't very good. I talked to a fellow boater at the launch after getting in and he was in the same boat as me that he wasn't to happy that shoals aren't marked specially like the one i hit. Luckily i was just going spot to spot nearby so i was only going 8mph but it could have been a lot worse.

Does anyone know where i can get a 5 prop stainless steel blade fixed.

If you don't mind crossing the bridge over to Gatineau, Marc Marine does excellent work.

I was out there this morning fishing myself and noticed there were no markers out, if there
was ever a year that needed them this would be it. I'm born and raised on the Miss and I still have to be
careful. Your gps with old tracks are handy, we cruised from the CP launch to the second lake
in the dark at 4:45 am. Three walleye and plenty of bass by the way.

My understanding is that Mississippi Lake's community association attempts to have the markers out by May long weekend.

The Prop Shop. Located in Kingston.

Had my stainless prop repaired there, and you could never tell it was damaged.
They do very, very good work.
