Laker action

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Laker action

Post by Markus »

Lake Ontario is seeing some of the best spring laker fishing that i've ever seen. It's always had it's hot spots, but it just seems you can find them anywhere this year...and i just dont mean the area, but in the water column as well. Usually if you fish higher up fro m the bottom and bump your speed up a bit, you can avoid them. Not this year. I as picking them up today 30 feet down over 100+ fow moving along at 2.9mph.

unfortunately though, as much as I like Lakers, I was after salmon. There just didnt seem to be any in the area. I would have loved to run to other spots, but i was fishing solo out of a small tinnie that a friend loaned me and I decided to just stick close to where I launched.

Despite no salmon for me...I'm tickled to death i got to have a beautiful morning on the big pond and got to land some fantastic fish.

Regardless of not catching any salmon Markus, it must have felt great being out on the lake when its like that and banging some chunky greasers!!!

I wish the lake was closer to me!

Great looking Lakers there Markus, it must have been interesting netting them alone.

I wasn't planning on heading down there till July but I may have to hit it up sooner.
