When 12 inches is a big deal.

Been playing Kayak Wars " The Largest Online Kayak Fishing Tournament in The World " again this year.
I find it gives some incentive to get out and I like targeting as many species as possible.
It's brutally honest in that you take board pics. of your catches and there's minimum length
requirements for each species. It's not meant to be too serious and really is set up as a way for kayak
anglers to log their catches, a bit like making a butterfly collection or something. I'm also in charge of
an online registry of kayak caught freshwater Canadian fish on another site, where a board pic. is required
for Official Record status.
In KW the min. length for crappie is 12", managed 3 over 12" and about 20 over 11" on the Rideau around here lately.
Here's the longest. Not bad, but there's 14-16 inchers around somewhere.
Like RJ like the Bass Pro Crappie maxx tubes, and really like using thumper jigs with them, the ones with the little blade on for flash.
Casting is effective, for bigger crappie are minnow chasing fish !
Been having a rough time getting a 12" rainbow ( Kw min. 12" ), use to be easy, but with the stockers smaller in
North Frontenac, finding a carry over is harder, and the fishing pressure too.
Finally got a 12" bow ( even got skunked at Bing last November ) !
Now for yellow perch, can't beat the Larry for size, here's a Jumbo from Saturday.
KW min. is 11" which is tough for Ottawa and Rideau rivers .
I almost freaked when hooking this guy on a tube.
Bullhead ! about 12", But KW min. is 14", close but no cigar.
It felt good to get some of the smaller species out of the way, and looking forward going after some of the longer ones.
