Opening weekend report with a surprise!

Alright Friday is here....Oh no I need to get my new crankbait rod....Run over to Paddletales and get my new Crucial and some more stuff.....that place is evil.... 
Sat morning is here cancelled plans get on the Rideau!!!! First Tia and I head over to my crappie hot spot so we can put a few fish in the boat and she can get her first soft water crappie !! Mission accomplished
.... Now over to pike and walleye! A lot less weeds then this time last year.... Slow but we manage to get some pike on board and I lost a walleye at the boat... Using a Live target yellow perch jerkbait I cast it out start my jerk jerk retrieve! Then all of a sudden I feel a hit and this fish has weight and power !!!! At first I am thinking crap musky...... but to my surprise after a long fight and lots a reel peels and pulled all over the place we get in the net...... WTF

the next day for some reason the musky where hitting everything I was throwing
Not in season lost some lures to the beasts... other fish where caught but this nice nice walleye hit in 5 ft of water I love Rideau river gold !!!
Good times on the water with many fish caught!!!! I wish we would have taken more pics tho... Tight lines all!
