Holy smokes people, I had a great day on the beautiful Madawaska Lake. First muskie ever, on maybe my 20th cast of the morning using a 1 OZ chartreuse spinner. I got a little wonky on the gill hold but I made sure she was OK, and real healthy as she kicked off into the weeds. What a great feeling!
Then I got into some CFL Footballs. Probably the most fun way to catch anything - ripping buzzbaits like a top water.
First time on this body of water, and i'll certainly be back! Cheers!

Congrats on the first, one you'll never forget I'm sure.
Not that often where a a Muskie caught in Canada inspires a legend like Pete Maina to do up a little post.
She swam away and that's always the goal.

haha yeah I messed up the hold amidst the chaos and adrenaline... but I'm perfectly OK being used as the example of what not to do, if its teaches a few greenhorn anglers what to do. Maybe it'll save a fish or two.
I've never even targeted Muskie specifically but you can sure I'll be casting weedlines in the near future!
