I was planning on trying my luck on Lake Dore last Saturday but we received word on Friday that the lake was being closed by the Renfrew County health unit and the MNR because of a major outbreak of blue-green algea. The lake is now closed until further notice.

We ended up going back to Muskrat and caught 1 nice pike and a small walleye.

I read the article in the Pembroke Observer and nowhere does it say that the lake is closed. It states the precautions to take if a bloom is present and what to parts of the fish to avoid eating. Lake is Open, if anything there might be a bit less bat traffic.

I think I would trust the health unit and the mnr before a newspaper article. Just sayin'

Regardless, I just wanted to know where it says the lake is closed. I cannot find that information on any of the mentioned sites.
