I've been hard at work this winter getting my boat ready and i'm itching for an early ice out. Sorry to all you hard water guys but i think it will be one of the earliest thaws on record. I've heard whitefish can be caught shallow just after ice out. I believe they're open all year. I would appreciate any advice on how to get some in the boat. Wondering where to go and what to use. Going to need something to fish for until May. Also if anyone knows where and when crappie fishing gets good any tips would be appreciated.
