Ice Fishing on a Budget

Hi Everyone,

I have been ice fishing a bit over the last few years and I am hoping to bring things up a notch this year. My buddy has a deeper fish finder and that works ok except for the battery and accuracy. I'm thinking of buying a serious fish finder but I have a pretty tight budget ($100 - 150). I'm not too concerned about whether it's new or used. I've noticed that some people use their summer sonars for the winter. Would that be a cheaper way of getting in the door and if not would anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers,

KT

I use my Lawrence ff ice fishing it's there entry lvl model works ok but not that great.
If you can get up to 300 ff used just add a battery and it should be all you need.
I will be selling my Lawrence x4 next week once I pick up my new ff

Navionics phone app is a must and cheap on Itunes. Not a deal breaker to ice fish without a fish finder if you fish the structure or break lines found on the depth contours. Fish finder is nice but just remember we used to fish without them and caught fish, they had to put regulations in place just to save some for today. :D
