Hey,
Does anyone know if the ice conditions are still safe in Calabogie area?
Thanks!

Methinks thou mightest be pushing your luck Sir Lumbo!
In all seriousness, I imagine their are areas with some solid ice left , but based on the rot I have seen in the past week you might not make it to the solid area. Any areas with current are done and the shorelines are sketchy everywhere.
I was on muskrat lake two weekends ago at the end of the cold snap and their was still a lot of ice but even then it was starting to turn "grey" in spots.

I haven't been out that way recently but I would bet that there are still a bunch of lakes out that way with fishable ice. In springs past one lake would be half open, go to the next lake less than km away and solid ice. Depends how much sun the lakes get, if there are any springs or flowing water etc.
If you end up going just take proper precautions but I wouldn't say you're crazy, you're just a fisherman! Worst case no lakes fishable at least you can scout out some areas.

There was a lad out fishing in the middle of Silver Lake today when I drove by, I was suprised to see him on the ice this time of year, must be familiar with the lake I guess.
Still some solid backlakes, 20-24" of ice takes a while to disappear, just use common sense this last in the season.
