Crappie fishing in Manotick and Orleans area

May I ask if anyone knows some good spots to fish crappie? Is it too early and being this time of year I guess it would be best to fish from shoreline?

The Ottawa river in Orleans is tough but Petrie Island is your best bet "Crappie Bay" and as for Manotick just go a bit past it to Carleton Golf and Yatch Club and drive all the way down to the Rideau and fish the shore line there.

I had one of the best Crappie fishing days of my life on the Rideau river near Manotick when I found a bunch of monster fish under some floating logs in a swale of the river.... one after the other monsters. Think sharp curves in the river where stuff just seems to get stuck in the current.
