No more hard water fishing! :)
I don't know if it is just a coincidence or not but, as soon as I started work on my new rod, temperature started to rise as well. So , since yesterday I finished "The Sniper" , today I took it out on the banks looking for a spot to cast a few times with it. I did not have high hopes for catching anything but I really wanted to see how it feels and test it's sensitivity . To my, surprise, when I was least expecting it, a small pike decided to baptize and bless my new rod (and reel for that matter
) and as a result I just photographed my first fish for 2019 season . Here it is:
I gently sent it back to her mama and went home smiling.

That's awesome! At first glance I thought that you were ice fishing with a long rod.

Walleye'm fishing, you're sleeping.

I do not enjoy ice fishing as much and I guess will be a real torture to do it with a long rod
To be honest, I was not expecting any bite since I was actually just testing the new rod in what I will call a “summer spot” (at the edge of a rapid ). It was a nice and pleasant surprise, I give you that.
