Burbot

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Burbot

Post by jsdx »

Downrigging for lakers on Big Rideau, pulled up this burbot, my first ever. Had no clue what to do with it so it went back into the lake. Good fight, lots of pull, I thought I had a monster laker on for a few exciting minutes.

Some guy was trolling by and witnessed the catch. In your head, you see the perfect tv fishing show moment, fighting a big fish, with witnesses, and the glory where you hoist a big laker to show it off but nope, just a burbot :(

Still pretty cool.

Cool, a soft water burbot is always an interesting and un expected cartch. Congratulations!
