Calabogie area
Anybody been in any little lakes behind Calabogie lake to check on the ice out situation. I am thinking of walking around Blythfield long for a few specks but have showed up 2 years in a row toooo early and not enough open water to fish in.

Re: Calabogie area
The smaller trout lakes in North Frontenac (north of Plevna/Ompah) are all open...not that far from Calabogie. The trails are a mess though.
However not sure what's happened with the stocking program this year and last with the Covid situation. Blithfield Long usually gets a good drop of yearling Rainbows every year, but I heard the OMNR was switching to Brookies in that lake. The lake I like in Frontenac for Rainbows, seemed to only have hold-overs in it this year. I assume the hatcheries will have to do something with these fish...

Looks like they stocked both in 2020 according to fish-online, not many though.Corvus Lacus wrote:The smaller trout lakes in North Frontenac (north of Plevna/Ompah) are all open...not that far from Calabogie. The trails are a mess though.
